Drake Works With Justin Timberlake, Reveals Next Dream Collaborators

The checklist of things Drake has been able to accomplish in his young career reads like the résumé of a seasoned veteran. Record with Jay-Z? Check. Record with Eminem, Lil Wayne and Kanye West? Check.

Who else is left for the Toronto MC to collaborate with? Well, if Drake has his way, he'll have plenty more blockbuster tracks coming out.

"I'm trying to make this song happen, man," he told DJ Drama when he called in to his Hot 107.9 Gangsta Grillz Radio show on Thursday (August 27). "It'd mean the world to me. I'm trying to make this happen for my album. It'd be me, Andre 3000 and Sade."

The trio would make for a formidable and intriguing lineup on any song. Drake didn't go into much detail about the pending track. While he was speaking with Drama, Drake revealed he was in Los Angeles working with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland in the studio.

Despite being surrounded by so much talent, however, Drake reminded listeners for his debut, Thank Me Later — now tentatively due in early 2010 (he's hoping for a release near Valentine's Day, he said) — he wants to carry the bulk of the project by himself.

"I know that I have to carry the majority of the weight by myself," he said. "The features have to be carefully picked. I could call on every favor that's owed to me or to everybody that's reached out and said they wanna work. But that may be a silly decision on my part. Because I don't wanna take away from myself carrying my first album. So that record [potentially with Andre 3000 and Sade] is something important to me. Obviously [I'm gonna work with] Wayne. I'm out here really trying to get something special with Justin. Hovito [Jay-Z], we might need to get him. The track on this album was a real catchy joint. But people wanna hear us rap together. That's one of my goals, to have that track with me and Jay. Maybe don't even have a hook, maybe. Have just like you haven't heard him in a minute, just going bars for bars. That might be something you'll hear on the album."

Leona Lewis, Justin Timberlake Song Leak Under Investigation

Police are investigating the leak of a new Leona Lewis song featuring Justin Timberlake called "Don't Let Me Down," which is being considered for the British pop star's sophomore album, The Sun reported.

Simon Cowell's record label, SyCo, has partnered with the IFPI, which represents record companies worldwide, and the police to look into what they suspect was the work of computer hackers. According to The Sun, SyCo's computers were also allegedly hacked last month, and unfinished recordings by "X Factor" winner Alexandra Burke were leaked.

"IFPI is working with SyCo and law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and Europe to trace the individuals who stole the Leona Lewis/Justin Timberlake track," Jeremy Banks, head of IFPI's Internet Anti-Piracy Unit, said in a statement, according to Billboard.com. "The police investigation is ongoing. Such pre-release leaks, however they are sourced, are highly damaging to our members who invest considerable budgets in marketing and promoting music ahead of release."

SyCo thinks that the track was leaked by hackers and not by someone within the industry. In a statement to the BBC, a label rep said that the company's computers had come under a "sustained attack." The rep added, "We will certainly look to bring charges against those who are responsible."

Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake: The opera?

There have been some strange concepts brought to the stage, like "Jerry Springer, the Opera" and "Octomom! the Musical." Now here comes the next one: Timberbrit, the Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears opera.

Yes, someone has turned the story of these two young pop sensations into musical theater. According to a report on NPR, it tells the fictional story of Britney's last concert, when she has just hours left to live. Justin returns to woo her back, but she chooses the audience over her first love.

The show was put together by Jacob Cooper, a Yale doctoral student, with songs written by Yuka Igarashi. Cooper had been playing around with some software that could slow down music, called "time-stretching," and realized that Britney's music turned tragic when listened to on slow-mo. He was inspired to create his own operatic music based on the songs.

The opera first took the stage in 2008 as a partially complete program, but it is now being developed into a fully staged show in New York. It examines Britney's fall from grace, exploring how time can be slowed down and stretched, just as the music is slowed down and stretched. It seems when Britney becomes an opera, nothing can save her from cruel passing of time, not even her fans.

See the music video for the song "Worst Fantasy" which plays on the themes from the song and video "Toxic":
