And now, for the most confounding news of the day: Justin Timberlake might be writing a book. But not just any book. A book about...golf. According to the New York Observer, literary agent David Vigliano has been shopping a proposal from the singer to various publishers for a month now. Little is known about the supposed book's focus, but folks are speculating that Timberlake will share his experiences golfing with other famous faces.
To that, I say, jiggahuh? I can see Justin Timberlake writing a book about music. Or fashion. Or heck, even Robin Gibb. But a book about golf? Not everyone knows that the singer is a golf aficionado. (Even I was unaware until I Googled "Justin Timberlake" and "golf" after hearing the aforementioned news). But even still, it's hard to imagine that his memoirs will contain anything remotely juicy about his celebrity golf partners other than their handicaps on the green.
Hopefully, the book will offer a humorous slant to life on the course -- the star is essentially a sketch comedian disguised as a pop star anyway -- but the golf angle still feels like an awkward sell. Can you picture Timberlake as a leisure writer? The author of an expected Father's Day-friendly book? What about you, PWers? Think JT's golf book could make for a good beach read?
